Language Levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Level	Language competence
A1	You can understand simple sentences provided they are spoken slowly and clearly. You can make yourself understood in an elementary way when discussing familiar topics, and can write simple messages.
A2	​You understand the essentials of a message or a short text. You can make yourself understood in everyday situations and write short messages and personal letters.
B1	​You can have discussions about family, hobbies and travel, talk about experiences, understand simpler texts in general and business language, as well as write simpler formal letters.
B2	​You can understand longer radio and television broadcasts. You can understand newspaper articles and reports and make yourself well understood with native speakers. Moreover, you can write a detailed text and express your opinion.
C1	​You can also follow less structured speech when you hear it. You understand radio broadcasts and feature films, express yourself fluently and can communicate complex matters in writing.
C2	​You effortlessly understand everything you read and hear and participate without problems in conversations and discussions. You are familiar with idioms and slang usage. You can write complex reports, articles and demanding letters. Your writing structure and style is sound.
